Margaret Jane was born on March 19th, 1859 in Arkansas.1 Margaret Jane's father is Sampson David Straley and her mother is Ellen Lisenby. Her paternal grandparents were Charles M Straley and Elizabeth McComas. She had four brothers and three sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Joseph French, W. L., J. D., J. H., Sarah K, Martha Emma, Emily Elizabeth and Jessee. She is the fifth oldest of the nine children.-
