Short 
Short was born on January 8th, 1813 in Georgia.1 Short's father was George Pollard Butler and her mother was Polly F. Butler. Her maternal grandfather was Hurd and her maternal grandmother is Smith. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Young Gresham, Pollard P., Decatur P., George Putnam, Whittington, Webb, Short and Whittington. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 54 on February 24th, 1867 in Amite Co., Mississippi.1 General Notes
