Marie Roy

Marie was born in 1789 in Opelousas, Louisiana.¹ Marie's father was Joseph Noel Roy and her mother was Anne Bordelon. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Roy dit Chaelleraut and Perrine Lacour; her maternal grandparents were Laurent Nicolas Bordelon and Adrienne Rondot. She had seven brothers and eight sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Joseph Noel, Solastie, Noel, Valery, Jean Baptiste, Joseph, Joseph, Theotiste, Dorothee, Judith, Hortense, Manette, Celeste, Euphanie, Catherine and Ludivine. She was the third youngest of the seventeen children. She died in 1789.¹
