Joseph Roy

Joseph was born in 1784 in Opelousas, Louisiana.¹ Joseph's father was Joseph Noel Roy and his mother was Anne Bordelon. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Roy dit Chaelleraut and Perrine Lacour; his maternal grandparents were Laurent Nicolas Bordelon and Adrienne Rondot. He had six brothers and nine sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Joseph Noel, Solastie, Noel, Valery, Jean Baptiste, Joseph, Theotiste, Dorothee, Judith, Hortense, Manette, Celeste, Euphanie, Catherine, Marie and Ludivine. He was the seventh youngest of the seventeen children. He died at the age of 9 in 1793 in Opelousas, Louisiana.¹
