Jr. Bailey was born about 1846 in Virginia.1 Jr. Bailey's father was Masten Bailey and his mother was Rebecca Harman. His paternal grandparents were John Payton Bailey and Nancy W. Davidson. He had five brothers and a sister, named George P., Elijah Peters, Pembroke, Mathias B., James M. and Jane. He is the second youngest of the seven children. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named Pearis, Harrison Henderson, John Peters, James O. and Julia Ann.-
