David Alexander French 
David Alexander was born on September 7th, 1837 in Mercer Co, Virginia.1 David Alexander's father was Guy Dingess French and his mother was Arminta Dormer Chapman. His paternal grandparents were DAVID Edwin French and MARY Dingess. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Henley Chapman, William Augustus, Charles Dingess, Mary, Sarah Minerva, Fannie and Susan V.. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 81 in 1918. He was buried in French-Mason Cemetary, Giles County, Virginia.1 1 General Notes

David Alexander French, the son of Guy Dingess and Araminta French was born 1837. He and his first wife Mary Ellen Williams had 3 children; James Mary and N ell. Mary died 1876. David then married Jennie Clark Easley, the daughter of Dr. John White and Emily Thompson Easley. Their children were
1. Charles Wil liam 1881-1911 2. Guy married Grace Brown 3. George Easley French married Eli zabeth Torbet and had John David and Robert Torbet French 4. Charles died 1 978 married Marie Oliver died 1986. Their children were Jennie Clark and Ellen White French 5/14-1806 Ordered that David French be appointed to procure such books as he may think proper for keeping of records and proceedings of thi s court to be paid out of the first levy
