Martha was born on August 10th, 1713 in Cumberland Co., Virginia.1 Martha's father was HENRY Clay and her mother was MARY Mitchell. Her paternal grandparents were CHARLES Clay and HANNAH Wilson; her maternal grandfather was WILLIAM Mitchell and her maternal grandmother is ELIZABETH Innes. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Henry, John, Charles, William Mitchell, MARY Obedience and Amey. She died in Cumberland Co., Virginia.1 -
