John Thaxton

John was born on March 14th, 1800 in Pendleton Dist., SC. John's father was Thomas Thaxton and his mother was Jemima Cobb. His paternal grandparents were Abel Thackston and Lucy Davis; his maternal grandparents were Henry COBB and Deborah REED. He had two sisters named Martha and Rachel. He was the youngest of the three children. He had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named WILLIAMSON, GEORGE, THOMAS, JAMES H., MATILDA, MILLY, PHEBE and SARAH. He died at the age of 54 on December 6th, 1854 in Washington, IL.
