Jacob Elmore was born in September 1876. Jacob Elmore's father was William White Thaxton and his mother is Frances Elizabeth Newsom. His paternal grandparents were James Clark Thaxton and Parmelia Elizabeth White; his maternal grandparents are William Newsom and Sophia Hancock. He has four brothers and three sisters, named Walter, William Clark, George Rufus, John F., Mary Jimmie, Elizabeth Ann and Hillary White. He is the fourth youngest of the eight children.-
