George Rufus Thaxton 
George Rufus was born on September 23rd, 1874. George Rufus' father was William White Thaxton and his mother is Frances Elizabeth Newsom. His paternal grandparents were James Clark Thaxton and Parmelia Elizabeth White; his maternal grandparents are William Newsom and Sophia Hancock. He has four brothers and three sisters, named Walter, William Clark, Jacob Elmore, John F., Mary Jimmie, Elizabeth Ann and Hillary White. He is the fourth oldest of the eight children.-
