Simon II de was born about 1170 in , Dammartin-en-Goele, Seine-et-Marne, France.1   Simon II de's father was Aubrey II de Mello and his mother was Mathilda de Ponthieu.  His paternal grandparents were Alberic I de Mello and Clementia de Dammartin-Aumale; his maternal grandparents were Renaud II Of CLERMONT-EN-BEAUVAISIS and Clemence Montbéliard. He had a brother and five sisters, named Renaud, Julia de, Agnes de, Juliane De, Clemence de and Aélis de.  He was the second youngest of the seven children.  He died on September 21st, 1239 in , Abbeville, Somme, France.  He was buried in , Valois, Île-de-France, France.1 1

‌Simon II de and Marie (Jeanne) Countess Of were married in a religious ceremony about 1212 in Aumale, Seine-Maritime, France.  They had two daughters named Philippa De and Jeanne De.
