Matthew Maupin 
Matthew was born about 1775 in Albemarle, Virginia. Matthew's father was GABRIEL Maupin and his mother was ANNA B. Ballard. His paternal grandparents were DANIEL "Old Daniel" Maupin and MARGARET Via; his maternal grandfather was THOMAS Ballard and his maternal grandmother is FRANCES Shiflett. He had seven brothers and five sisters, named David Hansford, Daniel, Joel, Gabriel, Thomas, Bland, John, Susannah, Judith, Frances "Fanny", Anna and Margaret "Peggy". He was the youngest of the thirteen children. He died in 1823 in Knox, Indiana.-
