Note Due to the religious persecution of Huguenots, Gabriel Maupin and his wife, Marie, emigrated from France to Virginia around 1699. They had three children: Gabriel, Daniel, and Mary. Gabriel and his family first lived in Manakin Town on the James River, but later moved to Williamsburg, where he died in April 1720.
