John Maupin 
John was born about 1725 in Albemarle, Virginia. John's father was DANIEL "Old Daniel" Maupin and his mother was MARGARET Via. His paternal grandparents were GABRIEL Maupin and MARIE Hersent (Erssen); his maternal grandparents were AMER Via and MARGARET UNKNOWN. He had six brothers and three sisters, named GABRIEL, Daniel "Cuff", William G., Zachariah "Becheries", Jesse G., Thomas, Mary, Margaret "Peggy" and Jane "Jean". He was the third oldest of the ten children. He died in September 1806 in Albemarle, Virginia.-
