William Brooks Howell 
William Brooks was born on May 18th, 1818 in Grainger County, Tennessee Formed 1796.1 William Brooks' father was John HOWELL and his mother was Temperance MIDKIFF. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Henry HOWELL and Elizabeth BROOKS; his maternal grandfather was Isaiah MIDKIFF and his maternal grandmother is Mary Kimble. He had eight brothers and five sisters, named Haywood Benjamin, John Jamison, Thomas E., Wesley, George W., Andrew, Kimble Edegmond, Jefferson Metcalf, Mary, Pleasant Rose, Elizabeth Brooks "Annie", Sarah J. and Nancy. He was the fourth oldest of the fourteen children. He died at the age of 65 on December 9th, 1883.1 General Notes
