Theadore Freelend Howell 
Theadore Freelend was born on April 4th, 1832 in McNairy, Tennessee. Theadore Freelend's father was Walter Howell and his mother was Nancy Ann Lawrence. His paternal grandparents were Edward HOWELL and Francis Fanny Stroud; his maternal grandparents were Richard Lawrence and Jane Hammond. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Richard Lawrence, Walter Jr., Sarah Jane and Eglantine. He was the second youngest of the five children. He died at the age of 85 on January 19th, 1918 in Burnet, Burnet Co., Texas. He was buried in January 1918 in Cauble Cem. , Burnet, TX.General Notes

Tn.(now Jack's Creek, Chester, and he died Jan. 19, 1918 in Burnet, Burnet Co. Tx. and was buried in Cauble Cem. , Burnet Co. Tx. He married Elizabeth Sellers in Fayette Co. Tx. on 25 Dec. 1855 in Colorado, Tx., daughter of Robert Sellers and Margret Miller. She was born April 04, 1837 in Fayette, Tx. and died 1905 in Burnett, Tx. He was living in Goliad Co. Tx., when he enlisted in CSA in May 1862. In the 1880's , he brought his family from his farm on Coletto Creek in Goliad Co. Tx. and settled on Rocky Creek in northeast Burnet Co. Amoung there children was my grandfather, Asa Howell, who became a physician and practiced medicine in Burnet and the surrounding area from 1900 through the 1930s(Burnet UDC files show Howell serving in Dicksons rangers, Grimes Co. Cav, 17th Brigade--Other wives were(1) Miss Graham and (3) Mrs. Galiet). A biorgaphy of T.F. Howell and fam. pictures is in the Burnet Co. History, ! Vol. II, page 160-162. Pg. 160: Howell was a Mason and the familly were members of the Church of Christ. They attended church services at the old Elm Grove School House, two miles or so northwest of their home, and the camp meetings commonly held in the summer. After his children were grown up and left home, Theodore moved c. 1902 or 1903 to Burnet where he lived most ot the time until his death.
