Catharine was born on July 21st, 1810 in Bedford, Bedford Co., PA. Catharine's father was Frederick Hoover and her mother was Catharine BRUMBAUGH. Her paternal grandparents were Johann Adam HUBER and Catherine Kramer. She had four brothers and seven sisters, named John, Samuel, Frederick, Jacob, Susanna\Susannah, Nancy Ann, Mary, Barbara, Elizabeth, Christina and Margaret. She was the fifth oldest of the twelve children.-
