Frances Marion Herring

Frances Marion was born in 1846 in , Washington, IL.  Frances Marion's father is Daniel Washington Herring and her mother was Helen Ellender Sevier.  Her paternal grandparents are Peyton Herring and Mary 'Polly' Evans; her maternal grandparents were John Sevier and Anna Friend. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Jesse L, George Washington, John Wesley, Alexander, William Jasper, Egell Elvin, Martha Ann, Elisabeth Jane, Mary Etta and Amelia Nora.  She is the fifth oldest of the eleven children.
