Ann Elizabeth was born on December 24th, 1774 in North Fork of the South Branch of the Potomac, Pendleton County, (West) Virginia.1   Ann Elizabeth's father was Johan Jacob Harper and her mother was Margaret Simmons.  Her paternal grandfather was Philip Herber and her paternal grandmother is Anna Elizabetha Kauffmann; her maternal grandfather was Nicholas Simmons and her maternal grandmother is Maria Margaretha LNU. She had six brothers and seven sisters, named John Henry, John Adam, Jacob, Nicholas, Moses, Leonard, Catherine Barbara, Mary, Sarah Margaret, Elizabeth Christina, Barbara, Aria and Leah.  She was the oldest of the fourteen children.  She died at the age of 42 on December 20th, 1817 in Randolph County, (West) Virginia.  She was buried in 1817 in May have been buried in Valley Bend Cemetery, Beverly, (West) Virginia.2 3

‌Ann Elizabeth and John were married in a religious ceremony on June 4th, 1793 in Pendleton County, (West) Virginia.3   They had eleven sons and a daughter, named Absolom, Henry, Solomon, Enoch, John, Zebulon, Jacob, Caleb, Joshua, Noah, David and Phebe.
