Philip was born on September 26th, 1712 in Niederweiler, Rheinland Pfalz, Germany.1   Philip's father was Johann Adam Herper and his mother was Eva Catharina Faller.  His paternal grandparents are Johannes Herper and Anna LNU; his maternal grandfather is Nickel Faller. He had four brothers and a sister, named Johann Wilhelm, Johann Matthes, Johann Nickel, Anton and Maria Gertraud.  He died at the age of 85 on February 14th, 1798 in Macksville, Pendleton County, (West) Virginia.2

‌Philip and Anna Elizabetha were married in a religious ceremony on December 1st, 1740 in Niederweiler, Rheinland Pfalz, Germany.3   They had three sons and three daughters, named Nikolaus, Johann Philipp, Johan Jacob, Eva Elisabetha, Eva Catharina and Margaret.
