Basil GAITHER 
Basil was born in 1774 in Frederick Co, Md. Basil's father was Basil GAITHER and his mother was Margaret WATKINS. His paternal grandfather was Edward GAITHER and his paternal grandmother is Eleanor DAVIS; his maternal grandparents were Nicholas WATKINS and Ariana WORTHINGTON. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Nicholas Watkins, Walter, Cassaway, Gassaway, Walter, Nathan, Ellen Martha (Nellie), Nelly, Betsey, Nathan and Martha. He was the third oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 57 in 1831 in , , Rowan Cty. Nc..General Notes
