Robert Nathaniel "Bob" Blosser 
Robert Nathaniel "Bob" was born on April 27th, 1923 in Newton, Harvey Co., KS.1 Robert Nathaniel "Bob"'s father was Nathaniel Blosser and his mother was Myrtle Arletta "Arlie" Glover. His maternal grandparents were James Hanson Glover and Martha Jane "Mattie" Payne. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Milton LaVerne "Nate", Richard Winston "Dick", Frances Nadine, Mary Louise and Living. He died at the age of 63 on September 24th, 1986 in Wichita, Sedgwick Co., KS. He was buried in Resthaven Cemetery, Wichita, Sedgwick Co., KS.1 1 General Notes
Graduated from Newton High School (honor roll) and participated on the agriculture judging team through high school. He first entered World War II 17 July 1943. Flew combat out of England on B-17 as a Ball Turret Gunner. Decorations earned included Distinguished Flying Cross, FAME with 3 bronze stars, Air Medal with 3 bronze clusters and 1 Overseas bar. Discharged 23 Oct 1945 as staff sergeant.
"GO #934, 3d Bomb. Div., 5 November 1944- ROBERT N. BLOSSER, 37534841, Staff Sergeant, Army Air Forces, United States Army. For extraordinary achievement while serving as ball turret gunner on many high altitude heavy bombardment missions against the enemy over Continental Europe, during a period ending 2 November 1944. Sergeant Blosser repelled numerous hostile fighter attacks by his excellent marksmanship, thereby assuring the safety of the crew and aircraft. The courage, presence of mind and devotion to duty while engaged in aerial combat on all these occasions are in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Army Air Forces."
Earned a BS from University of Wichita in 1947 and 1950. B.S. in Business Management and Accounting. Received Air Force Reserve Commission upon graduation in 1950. Returned to active duty September 1950. Sent to school at St. Joe, Missouri, and then to place near Oklahoma City. Then was sent to Japan fall of 1951. Family went to Japan Aug 1952. Released from active duty September 1953 as a 1st Lieutenant. Remained in active reserve until 1961. Retired in 1963 or 64. Was in Japan for 2 years. Worked as Office Manager at Don Schmid's Motor Company (Dodge), Wichita, Kansas. Both Mona and Bob worked with Boy Scouts. United Methodist Church. Buried at Garden of the Cross, Resthaven Cemetery, Wichita (road on west side of garden, to pine tree, S.W. of cross, 6 rows W. of bench by tree, lot 36B Space 1.)

Robert N. Blosser, 63, of 1226 Gidley, office manager for Don Schmid Motor, died Wednesday, Sept 24, 1986. Service 11 a.m. Friday, Resthaven Mortuary.
Survivors: wife, Mona; sons, Gary of Wichita, Don of Freeholt, N.J.; brothers, LaVerne of Florence, Richard of Wichita; sisters, Opal Loucks of Fredonia, Frances Patton of Morganville; two grandchildren. Memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.
