James BUCHANAN 
James was born in 1761 in Blairlush, Tyrone, Donegal, Ireland and his baptism took place in Mercersburg, Franklin, Pa. James' father was John BUCHANAN and his mother was Jane Trindle RUSSELL. His paternal grandparents are William Alexander BUCHANAN and Mrs. BUCHANAN; his maternal grandparents were Samuel RUSSELL and Mary WATT. He had six brothers and three sisters, named William, Samuel, Thomas, John, Archibald, George, Sarah, Margaret and Elizabeth. He was the fourth youngest of the ten children.
