Robert BOWEN 
Robert was born in 1740 in Augusta, Va. Robert's father was John BOWEN and his mother was Lilly MCILHANEY. His paternal grandparents were Moses BOWEN and Rebecca REECE; his maternal grandfather was Henry MC ILHANEY and his maternal grandmother is Mrs. Jane HUNTER. He had seven brothers and six sisters, named John, Henry, Moses, Reece (Rees), William, Arthur M, Charles, Nancy Anne, Agnes, Jane Jean, Rebecca, Jean and Mary. He was the seventh youngest of the fourteen children. He died at the age of 77 on August 25th, 1817 in , Hickman, Tennessee. He was buried in 1817 in Carother's Cem, Hickman, Tenn.General Notes
