Pheobie Ann BACON 
Pheobie Ann was born on March 26th, 1825 in Jonesborough, TN.1 Pheobie Ann's father was Thomas BACON and her mother was Sarah A. (Sally) BARRON. Her maternal grandparents were George Thomas BARRON and Phebe JOBE. She had nine brothers and four sisters, named Jesse, Charles, Isaac, Daniel, John N., James, Thomas H., Jonathan W. (Daunt?), Jacob W. (Jake), Mary (Pop), Sarah Ann, Elizabeth and Amanda Jane. She was the second oldest of the fourteen children. She died at the age of 75 on December 25th, 1900 in Jonesborough, TN. She was buried in Bacon Cemetary.2 2 General Notes

NOTE: In the Jobe Journal, Volume IV, 14th edition, page 50 (May
1991), Bill has mistakely listed the children of Calvin R. Cox
and Phoebe Barnes/Barron? (brother to Wiliam Thomas Cox) as the
children of Phebe and William Thomas Cox. We have found census
records which prove that Calvin R. Cox's wife, Phoebe, was born
about 1820 and died 1853-1855 and that the children (Mary,
Martha, Amanda J, Sarah J, Elvira, and Thomas N. ) are Calvin's
children and NOT William Thomas Cox's children!!

" Pheobie Bacon Cox is buried in the Bacon cemetery next to her
husband William Thomps Cox. The Washington County Tombstone
Inscriptions BOOK has beside her name and dates that she was the
daughter of Thomas and Pheobe Barron (who are also buried in
this cemetery. I believe this is where the confusion is coming
from. The author of the inscriptions book made an assuption
based on the will of Thomas Barron which lists that he had a
daughter Pheobie Cox."
