John Pleasant was born on March 13th, 1877 in Amsterdam, MO..1 John Pleasant's father was George Washington Zinn and his mother was Frances Saloma Hare. His maternal grandparents were Pleasant George Hare and Susanah Moomaw. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Jacob Henry, Abraham, Lincoln, Louis Edgar, Willis Albert, Georgia Anna (Annie), Susannah Cathurn, Maggie May, Alma Mattie Doll, Frances Saloma and Gladys Leona.
