John Shoaf 
John was born on December 10th, 1806 in ,Hardy, Virginia.1 John's father was John Shoaf and his mother was Rachel Elizabeth Plum. His paternal grandfather was John Shofe; his maternal grandparents were John Plum and Rachel Temple. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Abraham, Jacob, Henry, Joseph, Katherine, Rachael, Nancy, Catherine, Elizabeth and Mary (Polly). He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 82 on April 11th, 1889 in ,Hamilton Twp, Franklin, Ohio. He was buried in Walnut Hill Cem., Hamilton Twp., Franklin, Ohio.1 1 General Notes
