Jacob Shoaf 
Jacob was born on April 8th, 1800 in ,Hardy, Virginia and his baptism took place on April 8th, 1802.1 Jacob's father was John Shoaf and his mother was Rachel Elizabeth Plum. His paternal grandfather was John Shofe; his maternal grandparents were John Plum and Rachel Temple. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Abraham, John, Henry, Joseph, Katherine, Rachael, Nancy, Catherine, Elizabeth and Mary (Polly). He was the third oldest of the eleven children.
