Richard de was born about 1052 in , , Normandie, France.1   Richard de's father was Guillaume de Normandie and his mother was Maud de Flandres.  His paternal grandparents were Robert "The Magnificent" de Normandie and Herleve de Mortaigne; his maternal grandparents were Baudouin and Alix Capet. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Robert III, William II, Henry I, UNKNOWN, Gundred de, Margaret de, Agatha Matilda de, Constance de, Alice De and Anna de.  He was the second oldest of the eleven children.  He died in 1081 in , New Forest, Hampshire, England.  He was buried in Winchester Cathedral, Winchester, Hampshire, England.1 1
