Cornelius Fisher 
Cornelius was born in 1599 in Syleham, Suffolk, England.1 Cornelius' father was Anthony Fisher and his mother was Mary Fiske. His paternal grandparents were William Fisher and Margerie Bert; his maternal grandparents were Ncholas Fiske and Johan Crispe. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Anthony, Amos, John, Anthony, Daniel, Joshua, Martha and Mary. He died at the age of 42 in 1641.1 General Notes

English Ancestry of Joshua and Anthony Fisher:
Cornelius Fisher, bp. 19 Aug. 1599 at Syleham; d. probably late in 1641, as his will was proved 9 Dec. that year; m. Elizabeth ____, named in his will. Cornelius received his M.A. from Cambridge in 1625 and became a schoolteacher at East Bergholt, Suffolk. In his will of 23 May 1638, his occupation "Clerke," he gave his wife Elizabeth land in East Bergholt and also his "part right in one Tenement called Wignotte in Sileham, Suffolk, she yeelding and payinge to my Father and mother Annuall Rents." Wignotte(s) had been in the family for at least three generations before Cornelius. In his will he named no children, but gave legacies to his brothers Joshua, Anthony, and Amos, and his "sisters Marie Briggs and Martha Buckingham."
