Thomas Despencer 
Thomas was born in 1169 in Of, Elington, Lincolnshire, England.1 Thomas' father was Almaric Despencer and his mother was Amabel (Maud) De Chesney. His paternal grandparents were Thurston Despencer and Lucia; his maternal grandparents were Walter Chesnei and Eva De Broc. He had five brothers and a sister, named Thurston, Almaric, Philip, Richard, Hugh and Juliana. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 49 in 1218.1 General Notes
