Agnes was born about 1141 in Mons, Hainaut, Belgium.1   Agnes' father was Baudouin IV Count Of Hainault and her mother was Alix De Namur.  Her paternal grandparents were Baldwin III of Hainault and Jolante De Wassenburg; her maternal grandparents were Godefroi Count of Namur and Ermisende of Luxembourg. She had a brother and a sister, named Baudouin VII Count Of and Lauretty (Laurence).  She was the oldest of the three children.

‌Agnes and Raoul were married in a religious ceremony about 1163 in Mons, Hainaut, Belgium.1   They had four daughters named Yolande De, Ade, Isabeau and Agnes.
