Louis II King of was born in 0825 in Alsace, Lorraine, France and his baptism took place in 0843 in Germany - Emperor Carolingian Dynasty.1   Louis II King of's father was Lothar I Emperor Holy Roman Empire and his mother was Irmengarde Countess of Tours.  His paternal grandparents were Louis I The and Irmengard of Hesbain; his maternal grandparents were Hugues Count of Alsace and Ava Countess of Alsace. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Lothaire II King Of, Charles Of Burgundy, Rothilde of, Abbess of Avenay, Ermengarde Duchess of and Rotrude.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.  He died in Brescia (as Holy Roman Emperor).  He was buried in St. Ambrose Church at Milan.1 1

‌Louis II King of and Engelberga Empress of were married in a religious ceremony in 0855 in Milan (cousins).1   They had a daughter named Willa.
