William De Aubigny 
William De was born in 1136 in Arundel, Sussex, England.1 William De's father was William "Strong Hand" D' Aubigny and his mother was Quenn. His paternal grandparents were William De Aubigny and Maud (Mary) Bigod; his maternal grandparents were Louvain and Ida De Chiny & Namur. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Godfrey D', Simon D', Rayner D', Henry De, Geoffery D', Alice D', Cecily De, Olivia D', Matilda D', Agatha D' and Matilda De. He had a half-sister named Cecily. He died at the age of 57 on December 24th, 1193 in Priory, Wymondham, Norfolk, England. He was buried in Priory, Wymondham, Norfolk, England.1 1 General Notes

William de Albini, 3rd earl, who, in 1218, embarked in th e Crusade and was at the celebrated siege of Damietta, bu t died in returning, anno 1221. He m. Maud, dau. and heires s of James de St. Hillary, and widow of Roger de Clare, Ear l of Hertford, by whom he left issue, William and Hugh, suc cessors to the earldom; Mabel, m. to Sir Robert de Tateshal l; Isabel, m. to John FitzAlan, Baron of Clun and Oswestry ; Nicola, m. to Roger de Somerie, Lord of Dudley; Cecilia , m. to Roger de Montalt; and Colet. The eldest son, William d e Albini, 2nd earl, had a grant from the crown, 23rd Henr y II [1177-78], of the Earldom of Sussex, and in the 1st o f Richard I [1189-90], had a confirmation from that princ e of the castle and honour of Arundel, as also of the Terti um Denarium of the county of Sussex. He d. in 1196 and wa s s. by his son, William de Albini, 3rd earl...[who] m. Mau d, dau. and heiress of James de St. Hillary." Maud de St. Hillary was the son of William , the 1st Earl, and Adeliza. I have, thus, compressed thi s pedigree by omitting the intervening William who Burke st yles 2nd earl.
