George was born in 1797 in Elbert County, GA. George's father was David Bird Hudson and his mother was Mary Cobbs Booker. His paternal grandparents were Charles Hudson and Susannah "Susan" Patrick; his maternal grandparents were William Booker and Edith Unknown. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Booker, William, Charles, David B. Hudson, Madison, Mary Margaret "Polly", Martha P. and Louisa Edith. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.-
