Charity Hargrove 
Charity was born in 1775 in Edgecombe Co. NC. Charity's father was Aaron Hargrove and her mother was Unity Proctor. Her paternal grandparents were John Hargrove and Judith Burwell; her maternal grandparents were John Gray Proctor and Mary Bennet. She had two brothers and seven sisters, named Ethelred "Dred", John, Penelope, Anna "Nancy", Sarah Elizabeth "Sally", Nancy, Inda Judith "Judah", Delilah and Patience. She died at the age of 51 in 1826 in Edgecombe Co. NC.General Notes

I do not believe that Charity was ever married. She had tw
o children which she each gave her last name -- Duncan an
d Elizabeth Ann (Betsy) Hargrove. It is also written in ou
r family bible that Charity was the mother of Duncan and Be
tsy. There was 16 years difference in Duncan and Elizabet
h Ann. Upon Charity's death, Duncan was appointed guardia
n for Betsy (note: we have the origianl release she signe
d to receive her inheritance from Duncan).
Before Betsy was born, Charity and Duncan were both livin
g with Aaron.

Duncan was born on March 4th, 1794 in Edgecombe Co. NC. He died at the age of 77 in 1871 in Edgecombe Co. NC.
