Frederick Desmond "Dutch" was born on August 4th, 1900 in Alamance Co., NC. Frederick Desmond "Dutch"'s father was James Monroe Fowler and his mother was Lelia Ann Sutton. His paternal grandparents were John G. Fowler and Mary Allen; his maternal grandparents were Charles Sutton and Nancy Murray. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Lawrence R., Edson DeMark, Clyde Monroe, George Herbert, Ernest Chloe, Mamie Naomi, Bertha May and Daisy Daphne. He was the youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 60 on April 20th, 1961 in Burlington, Alamance Co., NC.-
