Nance Best

Nance was born on April 22nd, 1808 in Edgecombe Co. NC.  Nance's father was William Best and her mother was Penelope Edmondson.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Henry Best and Sarah Jane Alexander; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Edmondson and Ann Howard. She had a brother and five sisters, named Calvin, Elizabeth, Amy, Julia, Lucinda and Sally.  She was the third oldest of the seven children.
