Calvin Best

Calvin was born in 1816 in Edgecombe Co. NC.  Calvin's father was William Best and his mother was Penelope Edmondson.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Henry Best and Sarah Jane Alexander; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Edmondson and Ann Howard. He had six sisters named Elizabeth, Amy, Nance, Julia, Lucinda and Sally.  He was the second youngest of the seven children.
