Edmund was born in Brockenhurst,Hampshire,England and his baptism took place in St. Thomas,Brockenhurst,Hampshire,England.1 Edmund's father was Thomas II d'Holland Earl of Kent and his mother was Lady Alice FitzAlan of Arundel. His paternal grandparents were Thomas I d'Holland Earl of Kent and Joan Princess of England [Countess of Ke; his maternal grandparents were Richard "Copped Hat" Fitzalan [EARL OF ARUNDEL and Eleanor Plantagenet [COUNTESS OF ARU. He had a brother and five sisters, named Thomas III, Eleanor, Margaret (of Kent), Joan, Margaret and Elizabeth. He died on September 15th, 1408 in Ile de Brehat,Cotes-du-Nord,France. Thomas, 3rd Earl of Kent; died 15 Sep. 1408 s.p. legit, being slain in
the attack on the Isle of Brehat, Brittany, buried Bourne Abbey, co.
Lincoln.
Married 24 Jan. 1406/7 LUCY VISCONTI, died 14 Apr. 1424, buried Austin
Friars', London, tenth and youngest daughter of Barnabo Visconti, by
Beatrice, daughter of Mastin della Scala. By Constance of York, then the
young widow of Thomas le Despenser, 5th Lord Despenser, and daughter of
Edmund of York [of Langley], Duke of York, he is said to have had a
base-born daughter, Alianor, wife of James Tuchet, 5th Lord Audley. C.P.
