Roger "The Poitevin" was born about 1052 in La Marche,Normandy,,France.1   Roger "The Poitevin"'s father was Roger V de Montgomery Earl of Arundel and his mother was Mabel d' Talvas [Countess of Shr.  His paternal grandparents were Roger de Montgomery [Seigneur of Mon and Josceline de Pont-audemer; his maternal grandparents were William D'Alencon of Talvas and Hildeburge de Beaumont. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Robert II de, Hugues de, Phillip, Arnulph de, Robert, Ameria (Emma) de, Maude De, Mabel and Sybil.  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He had a half-sister named Ponce.  He died about 1123 in Dy Sp.  He was buried in Grestain Abbey,Mortain,Manche,France.1 1
