Vervis Lavinia was born on May 26th, 1921 in Sylacauga, Talladega Co., AL.1 Vervis Lavinia's father was Spurgeon Kinchler, Sr Spradley and her mother was Florence Alabama Weldon. Her paternal grandparents were John William, Jr. Spradley and Valcey Almeade McGinniss. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Horace Lee, Spurgeon Kinchler, Jr., Myrtis Lorene, Mavis Virginia and Dorothy Ann. She was the third oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 77 on November 8th, 1998 in Sylacauga, Talladega Co., AL.1 General Notes

Aunt Bump says she was called that because she used to bump her head
against her house. Delivered at home by midwife Lovie Johnson of
Sylacauga, AL. She always had chenille bedspreads on her beds and a
railroad track ran behind her house.
