Hello again Ron, any info provided followed by a ? indicates I have yet
to substantiate it. Sanford b/1823, Perry Co., AL (?)and died 1912, Bibb
Co., Al. He is buried at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, West Blockton, AL
(near the graves of his dau Sarah Judson and husband William A. Dyer). He
was a veteran of the Civil War having served w/Company I, 18th Alabama
Infantry, CSA. Graduated from Howard College in Birmingham, Al in 1869
(?). I do not know any of the churches he pastored. I do not know who his
parents were but suspect his grandfather was Sanford Vandiver b/1809,
Pendleton District, SC and died 1864 in Mississippi, if so I can take his
family back to the 1600s. Also this branch produced many baptist
preachers.
Sanford's wife, Mary Jane (Polly) Falkner b/28 Jul 1840 and d/23 Sep
1903. She was the dau of Joel D. Falkner b/31 Jul 1815, Jasper Co., GA
and d/20 Dec 1864, Mobile,Al and Sarah T. Ussery b/5 Feb 1818, Anson Co.,
NC and d/18 Mar 1877. Joel is buried in the Confederate section of Mobile
Gardens Cemetery. Sarah is buried at Old Sterrett Cemetery, Sterrett, AL.
Valce Almeda McGinnis was b/25 Feb 1872 at Green Pond, Bib Co., AL (?).

Cemetery, Vandiver, AL.
Lutisha Carolyn b/14 Jul 1865, d/1947, m/Charles Bradshaw. Both may be
buried at Forest Hills Cemetery, Birmingham, AL.
Martha Emma (Mattie) b/26 Jan 1868, d/1955, m/Emmett Lilly. May be buried
at West Jefferson FW Baptist Church.
Mehitable A. (Hattie) b/19 Mar 1870, d/1940, m/A. Jack Johnson. May be
buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Leeds, AL.
Dovie Ella b/10 Apr 1876, d/12 Sep 1947, m/John Butler Skinner. They are
buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Basil William b/2 Apr 1880, d/9 Jun 1936, m/Nancy Nelson. May be buried
at Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham, AL.
