Ellie was born on February 10th, 1906 in Childersburg, Talladega Co., AL.1 Ellie's father was James Bryant Spradley and her mother was Henrietta Lieucya Johnson. Her paternal grandparents were John William Spradley and Nancy Blackman. She had seven brothers and eight sisters, named Hugh Elgin, William Melvin Bryant, John Franklin, Ellis Harrison, James Dixon, Albert Almouth, Charles, Nancy Lee, Sweeie Henretta, Louisa Josephine, Essie Mae, Bertha Elizabeth, Virginia, Flora and Allie May. She was the youngest of the sixteen children. She died at the age of 90 on June 10th, 1996 in AL. She was buried in Marble City Cemetery, Sylacauga, Talladega Co., AL.1 1 General Notes
