Dollie Pearl Spradley 
Dollie Pearl was born on June 22nd, 1921 in South Bosque, McClennan Co., TX.1 Dollie Pearl's father was George Wesley Spradley and her mother was Myrtle Martha Yeager. Her paternal grandparents were Bryant Eugene Spradley and Emmaline Todd. She had ten brothers and a sister, named Albert Eugene, Terry Davis, Cleo Festus, Oakley Hunter, Joseph Fieldon, Ernest Franklin, Hershell Wesley, Hiram Lesley, Willie Wilson, Ollie Earl and Cody Temple. She was the second youngest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 3 on August 1st, 1924 in South Bosque, McClennan Co., TX. Dolly was their eleventh child and the only daughter out of twelve
children, the twelveth being her twin brother. On August 1, 1924 her
father hooked up a team of mules to a wagon to haul two eleven barrel
metal water tanks for drinking use. When he returned he dropped the
traces so they could not pull the wagon and left them for a few minutes.
Dolly and Ollie climbed up on the front of the wagon, when the mules
decided to move and the neck yoke stayed on the end of the wagon tongue
and pulled the wagon with the tanks on it. After running about 100 yards,
the wagon hit a log post under the barn shed and threw the children off
the wagon and the front tank fell with the rim of the tank hitting Dollie
across the face crushing her head, and she died soon after. Her brother,
Oakley and I got the car and headed for McGregor to get the doctor, but
she had expired before we returned with the doctor from the nine mile
trip each way.
