Martha was born on September 24th, 1858 in Butler Co., AL.1 Martha's father was Thomas A. Sikes and her mother was Louisa E. Summerlin. Her maternal grandparents were Smith Summerlin and Martha A. Spradley. She had five brothers and three sisters, named William Smith, Thomas John, Ershin Bachilor, Walter H., Shorter, Emma F., Mary E. and Living. She died at the age of 66 on December 3rd, 1924 in Crenshaw Co., AL. She was buried in Rutledge Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Rutledge, Crenshaw Co., AL.1 1 -
