Luther Rutherford Russell 
Luther Rutherford was born on February 1st, 1869 in AL.1 Luther Rutherford's father was Samuel Tines Russell and his mother was Mahaza Ellen Spradley. His paternal grandparents were Simon Russell and Nancy Love; his maternal grandparents were Bryant A. Spradley and Frances Payne. He had three brothers and two sisters, named James Cannon, Bryant Spradley, Simon, Ida V. and Ella Eugene. He was the second oldest of the six children. He had a half-brother and five half-sisters, named Luther, Hannah, Louisa, Mary Savannah, Jane and Luanna. He died at the age of 75 on December 10th, 1944 in AL.1 General Notes

Luther Russell, like most of the family, was a small man, barely five
feet six inches and probably weighed less than 140 pounds. Winnie Parker
Russell, while of heavier build, could claim five feet and maybe an inch
or two more, so it was only natural their five grown children were not
tall. Gerden a 5' 8" was the tallest. Winnie was a perfect mother-in-law
to me, (Marjorie Douglas Russell, the compiler) and I'll always remember
her good humor and infectious laugh.
