Dora Ida was born on March 22nd, 1867 in Pike Co., AL.1 Dora Ida's father was Joseph T. Rushing and her mother was Mary Elizabeth Wells. Her paternal grandparents were William Cain Rushing and Mary Ann Rushing. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Willie, Jimmie L., Clayton, Hortense, Blanch, Bulah, Kahnie, Jewel and Lillie. She was the oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 26 on November 13th, 1893 in Keatchie, DeSoto Parish, LA.1 General Notes
