Charles Harden was born on February 9th, 1921 in Elmore Co., AL.1 Charles Harden's father was Samuel Green Murphy and his mother was Artishia Traywick. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Alexander Murphy and Tullelah Belle Adams; his maternal grandparents were William Traywick and Elizabeth Franklin. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Caldwell, Clarence, Calvin, Kermit, John C., Earl, Ethelee, Everee, Estell, Urell, Lula and Pearl. He died at the age of 68 on February 1st, 1990 in Sylacauga, Talladega Co., AL. He was buried in Blue Springs Cemetery, Coosa Co., AL.1 1 General Notes

Charles Harden Murphy - Anniston - Funeral services for Charles Harden
Murphy, 68, of 813 North Anniston Avenue, will be Sunday at 2 pm at Blue
Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Ray officiating. Burial will be
in Blue Springs Cemetery. Mr. Murphy died February 1st at his residence.
A native of Elmore County, he lived most of his life in the Sylacauga
area, he was a retired planner with R. L. Rumsey Lumber Co., a veteran of
World War II and was of Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Ellen
J. Murphy of Sylacauga; four daughters, Thelma Louise Akin of Alexander
City, Mable M. Dean of Opelika, Helen M. Isbell of Sylacauga and Juanita
Chandler of Montgomery, two brothers, Urell Murphy of Calerias and Earl
Murphy of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Estelle Robertson and Lula
Anthony of Sylacauga and Pearl Wright of Rome, Georgia; 12 grandchildren
and one great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Howard Mizrell, Grady
Osborne, Jimmy McDonald, Harold Hyatt, Donald Collins, Nelson Hairel,
Tony Plier and Mike Reynolds. Curtis and Son Funeral Home South Chapel
will direct the funeral service.
