Foy Lee was born on October 13th, 1916.1 Foy Lee's father was Joseph David Mitchell and her mother was Elsie Lee Knox. Her paternal grandparents were David Franklin Mitchell and Dora Ida Rushing; her maternal grandparents were Edward Knox and Sarah Phillips. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Horace David, Frank Knox, Audie Anna and Dora Dee. She was the third oldest of the five children.-
